DVD release – THIS TIME – a music documentary

May 31, 2011 – Director Victor Mignatti presents This Time, a music documentary that follows six recording artists on the verge of their next moment in the spotlight.

This Time stars composer Peitor Angell as he produces the legendary Sweet Inspirations’ first album in 23 years. The Sweet Inspirations – Myrna Smith, Estelle Brown, and Portia Griffin – were Elvis Presley’s back-up singers throughout the last eight years of his life. They also recorded background sessions with the likes of Aretha Franklin, Jimi Hendrix, and Luther Vandross, and developed seven albums of their own from 1967 to 1979. The film includes original Sweet Inspirations Cissy Houston (the mother of Whitney Houston and aunt of Dionne Warwick) and the late Sylvia Shemwell.

Angell likewise produced Pat Hodges’ first album in 25 years. Hodges had tasted fame in the late 70’s but became homeless living in South Central Los Angeles. With Angell she created three top ten singles on the Billboard Club Chart: “You Make Me Feel G-O-O-D,” “Love Revolution,” and “Saving My Love,” which stayed at #3 on the charts for two weeks.
