16-year-old Lauren Alaina to light up Graceland, Memphis
This fall, the 16-year-old Lauren Alaina (runner-up in “American Idol”) is helping to spread the Holiday Cheer at Graceland in Memphis – Elvis STYLE!
She will have the honor of flipping the switch on the Christmas lighting at Graceland this year, which includes the blue lights, a life-size Nativity scene, as well as Santa Claus flying his sleigh. All of the decorations were originally the work of Elvis himself, with the help of the rest of the Presley family.
The lighting ceremony is free and open to the public, and this year it will be especially exciting, as Graceland in Memphis, has teamed up with CMT and Sirius XM. They will offer one lucky fan the opportunity to fly to Memphis free of charge, see the sights and stay at Elvis Presley’s Heartbreak Hotel. Additionally, the winner will grab a private meet-n-greet with Lauren Alaina.
After Alaina lights up Elvis' Graceland, which spans approx. 13.8 acres, Santa will be on site to take photos with kids and their families.
The official Graceland Christmas lighting ceremony will take place on November 18. If you can’t be there in person to get a jump start on Christmas with Alaina, the event will be streamed live via GracelandCam at Elvis.com.
