Eisenhower Museum event to include film of rare Elvis footage

An event hosted by the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum, "Late Night at the Museum with Elvis," will begin at 7 p.m. June 26 with a showing of the film "Elvis 56: In the Beginning" at the Visitors Center Auditorium.

The hour-long film blends rare footage and early television performances during the year Elvis Presley became a rock and roll phenomenon.

Admission is $5 a person and includes the film followed by a wine and cheese reception and tours of the Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibit "Elvis at 21: Photographs by Alfred Wertheimer," which closes July 1.

Reservations are required by Friday. To make a reservation, call (785) 263-6700.
