Humes High School – The Herald
Fifty years have passed since Elvis’ high school graduation. Yet he is still young in our hearts. Elvis loved his alma mater and showed his appreciation on many occasions. He purchased football tickets to a local game for the students. He donated money for R.O.T.C. uniforms. He unexpectedly stopped by Humes high school during Father’s Night and gave a brief performance. In the early years Elvis would stop by the school with Hollywood friends to visit students and his favourite teachers. The students of Humes high school returned Elvis’ cenerosity in 1957 by dedicating that years annual to him. The annual from 1953 (the year when Elvis graduated) was the first to be re-printed. But a short while ago was the 1957 one also reprinted.
